India to Issue ₹1,000 and ₹100 Commemorative Coins
The Indian government is making new coins!
They're creating a ₹1,000 coin and a ₹100 coin.
The ₹1,000 coin celebrates a king's old sea trips, and the ₹100 coin honors a special religious leader.
These coins are made of silver and are the same size.
Even though they're money, you can't spend them like regular coins; you have to get them from specific places.
The Indian government will release ₹1,000 and ₹100 commemorative coins.
The ₹1,000 coin commemorates 1,000 years of Emperor Rajendra Chola – I's naval expedition.
The ₹100 coin marks the 105th birth anniversary of Acharya Shri Mahapragya.
Both coins will be made of pure silver and have a diameter of 44mm.
