Tata Power's Mundra Plant Likely to Restart by Year-End
Tata Power's big power plant in Mundra, which has been closed since July, is expected to start working again by the end of this year.
The company is talking to the Gujarat government to make a new deal for selling electricity.
The plant supplies power to five states and uses coal from other countries.
Normally, the company can't raise prices if the cost of coal goes up, but during times when there's not enough power, the government can make all plants work at full speed.
This allows Tata Power to recover the extra costs.
The plant has been closed because the government didn't extend a special rule that helped the company.
Tata Power wants a long-term solution and hopes to finalize it by November.
