China’s September Gold Buying Reaches Highest Level Since 2023

China’s September Gold Buying Reaches Highest Level Since 2023

China added 23 tonnes of gold to its official reserves in September 2026.

That was its biggest monthly addition since September 2023.

The reported purchase brought its total gold holdings to 2,410 tonnes.

China has continued buying gold for 23 months in a row.

It is currently the fifth-largest official gold holder.

France and Italy have slightly more gold than China.

China could move ahead of them if its purchases continue, but that is not certain.

The figures were attributed to data from the World Gold Council.
