Vijayawada Division Completes 10.70 km Sleeper Renewal
The Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway has set a new record by completing 10.70 km of sleeper renewal in just one month.
This work was done on one of the busiest railway lines in India, the Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam route.
The team replaced old sleepers with new, stronger ones using a special train.
They worked together very well and managed to do the job quickly without causing any delays or cancellations of trains.
The leader of the team, Mohit Sonakiya, made sure everything went smoothly by checking the work and encouraging the workers.
This achievement shows how well the railway team can work together to make the trains run better.
Vijayawada Division (BZA) completed 10.70 km of Through Sleeper Renewal (TSR) in a single month, a record for the division.
The work was done on the busy Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam (BZA–VSKP) main line without causing any train cancellations or diversions.
The achievement was led by Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager, who ensured seamless coordination and motivated the field staff.
The engineering, operating, S&T, and TRD departments worked together to facilitate 28 traffic blocks, the highest ever in South Central Railway.
The specialised track relaying train replaced grooved, ageing sleepers with wider-base sleepers weighing nearly 350 kg each, completing the task in a month instead of the usual three months.
