Bokakhat Poised for New Cricket Stadium Under BCCI-ACA Infrastructure Plan
Imagine a town that loves cricket, especially because a famous player named Uma Chetry comes from there!
Now, the big cricket organizations in India, called BCCI and ACA, are planning to build a new, large cricket stadium in this town.
They've already looked at a good spot for it.
The stadium could hold a lot of people, between 10,000 and 15,000.
They also plan to make special cricket fields for practicing.
This will happen if the town officially gives the land for sports.
The state government is also helping by providing money.
This is all to help more young people in Bokakhat and the surrounding areas get better at cricket and maybe become famous players too, just like Uma.
BCCI and ACA plan to build a 10,000-15,000 capacity cricket stadium in Bokakhat.
The project is contingent on the formal allotment and demarcation of land near the Dhansiri Polo Club for sports infrastructure.
In addition to the stadium, five high-quality turf wickets will be constructed to enhance local training facilities.
Assam Minister Atul Bora confirmed Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned by the state government for development, with Rs 10 crore already completed.
