8th Pay Commission Likely Delayed Until 2028

The government is working on increasing pay for its employees and pensioners, but it's taking longer than expected.

This is done through something called the 8th Pay Commission.

It was approved in January of 2025, but the group hasn't been fully created yet.

Because of this, the new pay increases, which were hoped for by January 1, 2026, will probably come later.

It takes a long time to decide everything and put the new rules in place.

Employees are also hoping for changes like better minimum wages and combining some allowances into their regular pay.
