Cobra Slithers Into Odisha Bird Cage, Kills Two Birds
A big cobra snake crawled into a family's birdcage in a town in Odisha, India, and hurt two birds.
The family got scared because the snake would not leave the cage.
They called special snake rescuers for help.
The rescuers carefully took the snake out without hurting it.
Then they set the snake free in a forest far away.
This happened during the rainy season, called monsoon.
Heavy rain can flood snake homes, so snakes look for dry and safe places.
Birdcages, sheds, and wood piles can become hiding spots for snakes.
The rescuers say people should be extra careful around such places when it rains.
Families with birds should watch out when cleaning or moving their cages.
A nearly three-foot-long cobra entered a bird cage at a house in Banki, Cuttack district, Odisha, and killed two birds.
The incident took place on Wednesday and left the household in panic as the snake stayed inside the cage after the attack.
Residents alerted the State Snake Helpline, whose rescue team pulled the cobra out of the enclosure without harming it.
The snake was released into a forested area by the rescuers.
The incident highlights increased snake movement during the monsoon, when heavy rain can force reptiles out of burrows in search of food and shelter.
