Raj Thackeray Questions Gujarat Contractors for Nashik Kumbh Works
Raj Thackeray is a leader of a political party in India called the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
He was upset about the city of Nashik, which is in the state of Maharashtra.
Contractors from another state, Gujarat, were hired to do work for the Kumbh Mela, a very large religious festival.
He asked, 'Were no contractors born in Maharashtra?'
He thinks local workers should get the jobs.
He also said the roads in Nashik are full of potholes and the city does not look good.
He said people in charge only care about getting money, called commissions, for themselves.
He remembered the Kumbh Mela in 2015 and said the work back then was simple and very good.
He complained that many trees were being cut down in Nashik.
He told residents that if they voted for the BJP party, they have to deal with what is happening now.
MNS chief Raj Thackeray asked 'Were no contractors born in Maharashtra?' over Gujarat firms being brought in for Nashik Kumbh Mela works.
He criticized the poor condition of Nashik's roads, saying potholes are visible across the entire city and people have lost their lives.
Thackeray alleged the administration is only concerned about commissions, not the development of the city.
He praised the 2015 Kumbh Mela, saying works were conducted in a simple and efficient manner with quality visible once completed.
He condemned large-scale tree felling in Nashik and told residents that if they chose the BJP in elections, 'then suffer'.
