Jaishankar Says India Will Rise Amid Global Turbulence

S. Jaishankar said India is becoming more important in a world full of uncertainty.

He said India wants peace and development to guide its foreign policy.

He also said countries are facing problems with trade, technology, energy, money and supply chains.

These problems can make countries more dependent on a few powerful places.

India’s answer, he said, is to reduce risks and build relationships with trusted partners.

He described strategic autonomy as important, meaning India should be able to make its own major decisions.

Jaishankar said India supports a world where several countries share influence rather than one country dominating.

He added that India’s growing role brings both more influence and greater responsibility.
