LSG Acquires Manchester Originals Stake on Auspicious Day
Imagine a sports team from India, called LSG, wanted to own part of a cricket team in England, the Manchester Originals.
LSG, which is owned by a man named Sanjiv Goenka, made a deal to buy 70% of the Manchester Originals.
They wanted to sign the deal on a special religious day called Haryali Amavasya.
Next year, the Manchester Originals will change their name to Manchester Super Giants.
The group that owns LSG hopes their new team will become a big deal, like the famous Manchester United and Manchester City football teams.
LSG, owned by Sanjiv Goenka, has acquired a 70% stake in the Manchester Originals.
The deal was finalized earlier in the week, with the signing taking place on July 24th.
LSG requested the signing to coincide with Haryali Amavasya, a religious festival.
The Manchester Originals will be renamed Manchester Super Giants starting next year.
RPSG, the parent company of LSG, placed the highest bid for the team in February.
