Rahul Gandhi Wins Youth Applause, But Congress Faces Reality Check
Rahul Gandhi held an event in Indore to talk with students and encourage them to ask questions.
Many young people applauded him and appeared interested in his message.
Similar events in other cities also attracted attention from students.
But Congress did poorly in the Delhi University student elections.
The ABVP won three important positions, while Congress’s student group won none.
An independent candidate won the vice-presidential race after reportedly not receiving Congress’s ticket.
The results showed that young voters do not all think alike and may care about caste, local issues and new leaders.
The article says Rahul’s popularity alone cannot help Congress win elections.
It argues that Congress must rebuild its local organization and improve its election planning.
Rahul Gandhi’s fifth “Chhatron ki Goonj” event in Indore drew strong applause from students questioning the political system.
Congress’s student wing NSUI won no posts in the Delhi University Students Union elections, while ABVP won three of four positions.
Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen defeated ABVP’s Ishu Maurya for vice president after reportedly being denied the Congress ticket.
The results highlighted caste divisions, internal Congress disputes and student demand for new political faces.
The analysis argues that Rahul Gandhi’s growing youth appeal may not translate into votes without major organizational rebuilding.
