PB Fintech Q1 net profit jumps 92% on insurance growth
PB Fintech is a big company that helps people buy insurance and borrow money online.
It owns Policybazaar, where people shop for insurance, and Paisabazaar, where people can compare loans.
In the spring of 2026, the company made a lot more money than before.
Its profit jumped by 92 percent compared with the same time last year.
The main reason was insurance: many more people bought life and health insurance through its websites.
When more people buy insurance, the company earns more.
The loan part of the business was slower, though.
Money lent through the platform went down, but online loans still grew.
The company also became more efficient, keeping more of each rupee it earns.
Its share price went up a little on the stock market.
PB Fintech reported a 92% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹163 crore for the quarter ended June 2026.
Revenue from operations grew 40% year-on-year to ₹1,888 crore, driven by its life and health insurance distribution business.
Insurance premium throughput rose 41% to ₹8,372 crore, with online life protection up 53% and new health premiums up 59%.
Overall credit disbursals fell 38% to ₹4,366 crore, though core online credit disbursals grew 33% to ₹2,776 crore.
Adjusted EBITDA margin expanded to 9% from 6%, and shares closed 1% higher at ₹1,620 on the NSE.
