India's November CPI rises to 0.71%, below estimates
India's retail inflation, which measures the price of everyday goods, went up a little bit in November to 0.71%.
This is higher than the very low 0.25% seen in October, but still lower than what some experts thought it would be.
Food prices are still going down, but not as much as before.
Things like vegetables and pulses are still cheaper than last year, but not as cheap as they were last month.
Prices in cities and rural areas both went up a bit.
The country's central bank, the RBI, thinks that overall inflation will stay low, and they've even cut interest rates to help the economy grow.
They're also predicting that the economy will grow by 7.3% next year.
Some experts think the bank could cut rates even more, but the bank is being careful.
The State Bank of India (SBI) also said that reducing taxes on goods and services (GST) could help lower inflation even more.
They think this could make prices go down by a small amount in the next few months and the next year.
The SBI also lowered some of their interest rates for loans and savings, which might make borrowing money a bit cheaper for people and businesses.
India's headline CPI inflation for November 2025 was 0.71%, up from 0.25% in October but below the estimated 0.8%.
Food inflation remained in deflation at -3.91%, an improvement from -5.02% in October.
Vegetable inflation was -22.2%, and pulses inflation was -15.86%, both showing less deflation than the previous month.
Rural inflation rose to 0.10% from -0.25%, while urban inflation increased to 1.40% from 0.88%.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) lowered its inflation projection for the fiscal year to 2% and raised the GDP growth forecast for FY26 to 7.3%. Economists suggest the RBI could further cut the repo rate to 5%.

Economists
Economists argue that the RBI still has room to cut rates, potentially bringing the repo rate down to 5% due to cooling price pressures and mixed growth signals.
RBI
The RBI has already cut the key policy interest rate to 5.25% and lowered its inflation projection for the fiscal year to 2%, indicating a cautious approach.
