Soren Appears in Court Over Land Scam Case
Hemant Soren, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, went to court on Saturday because the Enforcement Directorate (ED) wanted to question him about a land scam.
The ED had sent him many notices, but he didn't go for questioning.
The High Court said he didn't have to go in person, but he still went to the court.
He gave two bail bonds of Rs 7,000 each.
The next time the court meets about this case will be on December 12, and his lawyer will go instead of him.
The High Court also told the ED to respond to Soren's challenge against the summons.
Hemant Soren appeared before the MP-MLA court in Ranchi on Saturday in response to ED summons.
The ED issued multiple notices to Soren for questioning in an alleged land scam case.
Soren furnished two bail bonds of Rs 7,000 each as per his lawyer's statement.
The next hearing is scheduled for December 12, where Soren's counsel will represent him.
