Telangana Inspects E-Commerce Food Warehouses
In Hyderabad, the food safety department checked 75 warehouses of big online food delivery companies like Zepto, JioMart, and Swiggy.
They found and took away 1,903 units of expired or wrongly labeled food.
They also threw away 76 kg of rotten vegetables and other unsafe food.
The department gave warnings to 32 of these warehouses to improve their practices or face penalties.
This is not the first time the food safety team in Telangana has shared the findings of their warehouse inspections.
Last year, they found some mushrooms in a Zomato warehouse that had incorrect dates on them.
The company's CEO said it was a mistake and the vendor was removed.
