Malaysia to Launch Advanced Air Mobility Concept by Early 2026
Malaysia is working on a plan to bring flying vehicles, like electric planes that go up and down (eVTOLs), into the country.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) and Futurise are teaming up to create a guide called the 'Concept of Operations' or ConOps.
This guide will help these new flying machines operate safely and smoothly, like setting the rules for a new game.
Futurise will also help the project by managing a special group and making sure everything follows the rules.
The goal is to have the ConOps ready by early 2026.
The project also wants to clarify that AAM is different from drones.
It aims to position Malaysia as a leader in this new way of flying.
CAAM and Futurise are collaborating to advance Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in Malaysia.
The AAM Concept of Operations (ConOps) is planned for release in the first quarter of 2026.
Futurise serves as the Secretariat for the Advanced Air Mobility Steering Committee (AAM-SC).
The ConOps will establish guidelines for AAM services, covering operations and regulations.
The initiative aims to integrate Malaysia into the low-altitude aviation economy.
