India Opens Nuclear Sector to Private Investment

India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, announced that the country's nuclear power sector will soon allow private companies to invest in it.

This change is expected to bring new ideas, make India more energy secure, and help it become a leader in advanced nuclear technologies.

The government plans to introduce a new law called the Atomic Energy Bill 2025 in December to make this happen.

Currently, India has 8.8 GW of nuclear power, but it wants to increase this to 100 GW by 2047.

Companies like Bharat Heavy Electricals, Larsen & Toubro, and Tata Power are expected to benefit from this change.

However, it's important to note that these projects take a long time to complete, and the financial benefits might not be seen immediately.

Amitabh Kant, a former government official, said this move is part of a bigger plan to make India's economy grow very fast.

He also mentioned that India has made big improvements in making it easier for businesses to operate, which has helped create many new startups.
