Indian Markets Open Lower as US-Iran Tensions Lift Oil

Indian stock markets started Wednesday lower.

This happened after tensions between the United States and Iran increased.

The tensions pushed oil prices higher because investors worried that supplies could be disrupted.

Higher oil prices can create problems for countries such as India that buy oil.

Shares linked to real estate, technology and cars fell the most.

Other sectors also declined.

Analysts said India’s economy and company earnings were still providing support.

They also warned that higher US bond yields could cause more weakness in markets.
