J&K Agencies Probe Threat Letters’ Digital Trails and Local Links

Several threatening letters have been sent to some government workers in Jammu and Kashmir.

Many of the workers are Kashmiri Pandits.

The letters included private information such as names, addresses, phone numbers and vehicle numbers.

A group called the United Liberation Council claimed responsibility for the letters.

Investigators say the group is connected to Jaish-e-Mohammad and works mainly online.

Agencies are checking where the letters came from and who helped share private information.

They are also looking for people locally who may have supplied the information or circulated paper copies.

Officials believe the threats may be designed to frighten people and create pressure in the region.
