Ranthambore Tiger Reserve Key for India's Conservation

The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has recognized Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan as one of India's most important places for tiger conservation.

This reserve has a strong population of tigers that can naturally spread to other areas.

The NTCA's report from June 2026 outlines a plan to protect and grow tiger populations across India up to 2047.

Ranthambore is the only reserve in northwestern India with this important role.

The reserve has a high density of tigers and supports many other animals that tigers eat.

Tigers from Ranthambore have already started moving to nearby forests, helping to repopulate them.

The NTCA wants to keep strengthening places like Ranthambore and help tigers return to areas where they have disappeared.
