Andhra Pradesh Signs MoU for Modified UDAN Scheme

Andhra Pradesh has agreed to join a national plan called the Modified UDAN Scheme.

The plan is meant to make air travel cheaper and connect more places.

It will run for 10 years starting in 2026-27.

The government has set aside Rs 28,840 crore for the programme.

The plan aims to add 120 destinations and serve four crore passengers.

It also includes building or improving 100 airports and 200 heliports and helipads.

Andhra Pradesh could use the scheme to restart eligible airports and airstrips.

The state may also receive help for regional flights, water aerodromes, and heliports.

Officials expect better air access to support tourism, trade, and investment.
