No confusion, Karnataka CM to allocate portfolios soon: Parameshwara

In the Indian state of Karnataka, the Chief Minister has a big team of ministers who help run the state.

Recently, 19 new ministers were added to this team, which is called the Cabinet.

Now, each minister needs a special job, called a portfolio, like looking after schools or roads.

The Deputy Chief Minister says there is no confusion, and the jobs will be given out very soon.

The Chief Minister went to the capital city, New Delhi, to talk to the top leaders of his political party, the Congress.

He discussed who should get which job with the party's leaders.

People expect the job assignments to be announced when he returns to his home city, Bengaluru.

Some lawmakers are unhappy because they did not get a minister job, and the leaders are trying to calm them down.

Many people also want at least one woman to be made a minister, since the Cabinet currently has no women.

The leaders want everything settled before the state legislature meeting begins on August 13.
