IIT Guwahati Develops Low-Cost Water Treatment System
Scientists at IIT Guwahati created a clever water cleaner!
This new system can clean up to 20,000 liters of water every day.
It removes bad stuff like iron and fluoride, which can be harmful.
The system is special because it's cheap, costing about 20 rupees to clean 1000 liters of water.
The water goes through four steps: mixing with air, using electricity to catch dirt, clumping the dirt together, and finally, filtering it out.
The scientists are hoping to make it even better by using the sun and wind to power it and reduce the need for people to check on it.
IIT Guwahati developed a low-cost water treatment system.
The system removes fluoride and iron from contaminated groundwater.
It can treat up to 20,000 liters of water daily.
The system costs Rs 20 per 1000 liters of treated water.
It uses a 4-step process including aeration, electrocoagulation, flocculation, and filtration.
