Sealdah Division Achieves High Train Punctuality in 2025
Sealdah Division of the railway did a great job in 2025 by making trains run on time more often.
They had 95.30% of mail and express trains and 94% of suburban trains arriving on time.
This is better than the year before.
They want to make it even better in 2026 by upgrading signals at three places: Sealdah, Naihati, and Dum Dum.
They hope to finish this work by the end of March 2026 and aim for 97% punctuality next year.
Sealdah Division achieved 95.30% punctuality in mail/express trains in 2025, up 2.47% from 2024.
Suburban section punctuality improved to 94%, a 4.19% increase from the previous year.
The division aims for 97% punctuality in 2026 through signal upgrades at Sealdah, Naihati, and Dum Dum.
Signal upgrade work at Naihati is expected to be completed in February 2026.
The division plans to complete all signal upgrades by 31 March 2026 to improve punctuality further.
