Pakistan Seeks Clarification from India
Pakistan is worried about changes in the water flow of the Chenab River, which comes from India.
They have written a letter to India to ask for an explanation.
This is important because both countries have an agreement called the Indus Waters Treaty, which helps them share the water fairly.
Pakistan wants to make sure that India is following the rules of this agreement.
They also said that any changes in the water flow can hurt their farmers and people who depend on the river.
Pakistan wants to solve this problem peacefully but will protect their water rights.
This is not the first time there have been issues between the two countries about the treaty, as India had previously put the treaty on hold after a terrorist attack.
Pakistan has expressed concerns over alleged variations in the flow of the Chenab River.
Pakistan's Indus Water Commissioner has written a letter to his Indian counterpart seeking clarification.
The Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 governs the distribution and use of the Indus River and its tributaries between India and Pakistan.
Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to the peaceful resolution of disputes and the protection of its water rights.
India had previously put the Indus Waters Treaty in 'abeyance' after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
