Bhumi Pednekar Wades Through Floodwaters to Aid Assam Relief

A famous movie actress named Bhumi Pednekar went to help people in Assam, a state in India where heavy floods covered many villages in water.

She walked through water that came up to her knees to reach homes and give out relief supplies.

She also rode in a boat because some villages could only be reached that way.

She shared videos and photos on social media so people could see what was happening.

She said that recovery doesn't begin when the rain stops, but when help arrives.

She worked together with a group called the Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation.

Just before this trip, some people on the internet were upset with her.

She had spoken against using abusive language toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest in Delhi.

Another actor, Randeep Hooda, also helped with flood relief in the same area by preparing hot meals and packing survival kits.
