Andhra Pradesh Expands Pharma Hubs
Andhra Pradesh is becoming a big place for making medicines.
The Visakhapatnam Economic Region (VER) wants to be the largest medicine-making area in India by 2032.
They have plans to build big areas for research, making medical devices, and producing the basic parts of medicines.
Meanwhile, another place called Orvakal in Kurnool district is also becoming important for making medicines.
Two companies from Hyderabad are investing a lot of money there to make factories and create jobs.
This is all happening to make Andhra Pradesh a top place for making medicines in India.
Visakhapatnam Economic Region (VER) aims to become India's largest pharma cluster by 2032.
VER currently contributes 7-8% of India's pharmaceutical GVA and 90% of Andhra Pradesh's pharma output.
Plans include a 3,000-acre life sciences cluster in Srikakulam for research and innovation.
A 500-acre Medical Devices Manufacturing Zone 2.0 is planned for high-value medical equipment.
Orvakal in Kurnool district is emerging as a pharmaceutical hub with investments from Virupaksha Organics Ltd and Sigachi Industries Ltd.
