Indian Mutual Funds See Growth, Top States Account for Majority
India's mutual fund industry is growing!
It's like a big pot of money where lots of people put their savings.
This pot grew a lot in a year, with most of the money in stocks.
The biggest part of the money comes from a few states, like Maharashtra.
But some smaller places, like Nagaland, are growing even faster.
Not all places are doing well; Lakshadweep actually lost some money.
Overall, more people are starting to invest, showing they trust the market.
India's mutual fund industry grew by 21.94% year-on-year as of June 2025.
Equity-oriented schemes contributed 54.76% to the total AAUM, leading other fund categories.
Maharashtra accounted for 40.61% of the industry's total AAUM, the highest among states.
Nagaland saw the sharpest monthly AAUM growth, increasing by 62.47%.
Lakshadweep was the only region to experience a year-on-year decline in AAUM, down 26.98%.
