Sitharaman calls communists 'total cowards' in UPI fees row

India's leaders hold meetings called Parliament where they talk about laws and rules for the country.

Recently, two leaders got into a big argument during one such meeting.

A leader named John Brittas said the government wants to start charging money for UPI, an app people use to send money on their phones.

He claimed that America's trade representatives are telling India to charge this fee, just like they did to Brazil.

He reminded everyone that India's leader, Narendra Modi, once promised that UPI would stay a free public good.

The Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, strongly disagreed with him.

She said Mr. Brittas was spreading things that are not true and confusing people across the country.

Mr. Brittas left the meeting before she could give her reply, so she called him and other communists cowards.

Both leaders say they want what is best for India, but they disagree about whether UPI fees are coming and who is telling the truth.
