IMA Requests Exemptions, Seat Rationalization, and More Govt Posts
Imagine a group of doctors in Telangana called the IMA, who want to make things better for other doctors and hospitals.
They've asked the government to change some rules.
First, they want small hospitals with fewer than 50 beds to not have to follow all the complicated rules of the Clinical Establishment Act.
They also think there are too many medical school seats and not enough jobs, so they want to make sure there aren't too many seats.
And to make doctors feel safe, they want the punishment for hurting a doctor to be more severe.
Lastly, they're hoping the government can create a simpler way for hospitals to register and renew their licenses.
IMA requested exemption for hospitals with fewer than 50 beds from the Clinical Establishment Act (CEA).
The IMA is asking for rationalization of MBBS/PG seats.
They want more government posts to combat unemployment in the medical field.
IMA also requested an amendment to increase imprisonment to seven years for violence against doctors.
IMA wants a single-window system for hospital registrations and renewals.
