Indian Scientist Wins International Water Prize
Dr. Himanshu Kulkarni, a scientist from Pune, India, has won the International Water Prize!
This award is given out by the WaTER Center at the University of Oklahoma.
Kulkarni is the first person from the Indian subcontinent to receive this prize, which honors important work in water and sanitation in developing areas.
The award was announced in 2024, but the official ceremony took place on September 15th.
Kulkarni has contributed to the National Aquifer Mapping Program and is involved with organizations like ACWADAM.
He is also a professor at Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence and visiting professor at IIT Bombay and Tata Institute for Social Sciences.
