Maharashtra Launches Model Offices for Faster Property Registration
Maharashtra has opened three new offices to help people register property documents.
They are in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Nagpur.
A first model office had already opened in Pune.
People can register documents such as sale deeds, leases, gifts, powers of attorney, and wills there.
The offices use computers, appointment systems, and trained workers.
They also have waiting areas, Wi-Fi, refreshments, and water.
The new offices are meant to make registration faster and clearer.
They are run with help from VFS Global and WE Excel Software under a plan for 60 offices.
People may use these centres for ₹5,500 per registration or continue using regular government offices without an additional service fee.
Three technology-enabled Model Sub-Registrar Offices opened in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Nagpur, bringing the state total to four.
The centres register sale deeds, lease deeds, gift deeds, powers of attorney, wills, and other property-related documents.
Digital systems, appointment tools, trained staff, waiting lounges, Wi-Fi, and streamlined processes are intended to reduce delays and improve transparency.
VFS Global and WE Excel Software Pvt. Ltd. received a five-year contract to establish 60 Model SROs across Maharashtra in phases.
