Even though he retired, he still wants to help his old teammates.

India is about to play a series of two big cricket matches against Sri Lanka.

The matches will start on August 15.

Rahane gave the Indian batters some friendly advice before the games.

He told them that in Sri Lanka, the cricket pitch is usually very nice on the first day.

That means batters should play boldly and not just defend all the time.

He said it is important to take charge against the bowlers.

Rahane knows what he is talking about because he played very well in Sri Lanka in 2017.

He scored 200 runs with a hundred and a fifty that year.

India won that whole series 3-0.
