GTA Online Update Brings Back Michael De Santa After 13 Years

Michael De Santa, a main character from Grand Theft Auto 5, has returned in a new update for GTA Online after 13 years.

This update, called 'A Safehouse in the Hills,' shows an older Michael and his wife welcoming players to a new property.

His return confirms that the 'Deathwish' mission, where all three main characters survive, is the official ending of GTA 5.

This update also makes all three main characters from GTA 5 present in GTA Online.

Some people are wondering if this means the end of the GTA 5 universe or if the characters might appear in the upcoming GTA 6, which is coming out in November 2026.
