Goa: No GST Revenue Loss From Out-of-State Billing, Says CM
Imagine Goa is like a store.
The government gets money (GST) from things people buy there.
It doesn't matter where the things are made.
The money goes to where the things are used.
So, if someone buys something in Goa, Goa gets the GST.
Even if the company selling the things has an office somewhere else, Goa still gets the money because the goods are consumed there.
The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said Goa is getting all the GST it should.
Goa's Chief Minister stated the state hasn't lost GST revenue.
GST is a consumption-based tax, accruing to the state of consumption.
Tax is applied to goods/services used in Goa, regardless of manufacturing location.
If goods made in Goa are also consumed there, Goa gets the tax revenue.
The statement was a response to a query by a Goa MLA.
