Surat-Bilimora Section of Bullet Train Nears Completion
India is building its first bullet train, connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
A special part of the train route, between Surat and Bilimora, is almost finished.
All the big building work and the base for the train tracks are done for this part.
Most of the train line will be on tall bridges to cause less disruption.

The Surat-Bilimora part should be ready for trains in 2027, and the whole journey to Mumbai is expected by 2029.
The 47 km Surat-Bilimora section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor is in its final construction phase.
All civil works and track-bed laying for the Surat-Bilimora section are complete.
Approximately 85% of the MAHSR corridor (465 km) will be on viaducts, with 326 km already completed.
The Surat-Bilimora section is targeted to be operational by 2027, with the full corridor expected by December 2029.
