Lalit Modi announces return to India after 16 years
Lalit Modi used to be the boss of a very famous cricket league in India called the Indian Premier League.
Later, people said he broke many rules and had money problems.
He had to leave India and went to live in London.
Cricket leaders banned him from the game for life.
After 16 long years, a special court looked at the case again.
The court cleared his name and said most of the money questions were not true.
Now Mr. Modi is very happy and says he wants to come back to India.
He wrote online that he is coming back 'to buy the building.'
He will still live in London but plans to visit India sometimes so his son can take his rightful place in the family business.
Lalit Modi, founder and former commissioner of the Indian Premier League (IPL), announced on Instagram that he is returning to India after 16 years.
In July, an appellate tribunal under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act, 1976 overturned most of the Enforcement Directorate's findings and exonerated Modi.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) banned Modi for life in 2013 after its disciplinary committee found him guilty of eight charges of indiscipline and misconduct.
Modi said he will continue to live in London and visit India from time to time to establish his son's place in the family business.
He earlier told ANI in a video statement that he planned to come back to India after October this year.
