V2 Retail shares fall 19% after weaker Q2 growth update

V2 Retail sells value-fashion clothing.

Its sales were higher than a year earlier in the second quarter, but some other measures of store performance were weaker than in the first quarter.

Same-store sales growth was 0.5%, compared with 7.5% in Q1.

Sales per square foot also went down.

The company said the quarter came before important festivals and that many newer stores were still building up their business.

It added 49 stores and closed three.

After the update, the company's shares fell more than 19% on Monday.

An analyst said the stock could face resistance around ₹185–₹190 and identified support at ₹155–₹150.
