FAIFA Proposes Four-Pillar Strategy for Indian Agriculture
The Federation of All India Farmer Associations (FAIFA) held a big meeting in New Delhi to talk about how important farmers are for India's food future.
They said that India's population is growing, and people are eating more different kinds of food.
This makes it harder for farmers because there is less land to grow crops.
FAIFA suggested some big ideas to help farmers, like using special farming methods that are good for the environment, selling more food to other countries, protecting special kinds of seeds, and making it easier for farmers to get money to buy things they need.
A important government official spoke at the meeting and said that the government is also working to help farmers with new technologies and better ways to sell their food.
FAIFA wants to make sure that farmers can grow enough food for everyone in India and also sell food to other countries, all while taking care of the environment.
The government was also asked to increase the budget for agriculture and fill up research posts on time to help farmers more.
FAIFA organized a national seminar on 'Rising Food Demand & Economic Growth Imperatives' in New Delhi.
The seminar highlighted the critical role of farmers in meeting India's escalating food demand due to population growth and changing dietary preferences.
FAIFA released a White Paper outlining a four-pillar strategy to empower farmers and accelerate sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.
The strategy includes investments in permaculture, export diversification, non-GMO agricultural integrity, and agricultural financing.
Shri Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, Minister of State for Heavy Industries, spoke about the government's commitment to empowering farmers through innovation and access to global markets.
