Madhya Pradesh High Court Makes Mother’s Custody Permanent

Madhya Pradesh High Court Makes Mother’s Custody Permanent

A court had to decide which parent should care for a five-year-old boy.

The boy was asked whom he wanted to live with.

He said he wanted to stay with his mother because she loved him.

The court listened to him but also looked at his safety and overall well-being.

The boy’s father worked as a labourer and said he earned about Rs 10,000 each month.

The boy’s grandmother said she could not take responsibility for looking after him.

The court decided that the boy would be safer with his mother.

It first gave her temporary custody and then made that arrangement permanent.
