Hasina challenges Yunus to ICC over death sentence
Sheikh Hasina, the former leader of Bangladesh, is in trouble with the new government led by Muhammad Yunus.
She was given the death penalty by a court in Bangladesh, but she says it's not fair and wants the case to be heard by a bigger, more fair court in another country.
She also says that staying in Bangladesh is not safe for her.
She is thankful to India for helping her and hopes that things will get better when Bangladesh has free elections again.
She believes that the current government's actions are not good for Bangladesh or its relationship with other countries.
Sheikh Hasina, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, was sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in Bangladesh.
Hasina challenges the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus to take the charges against her to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for an impartial investigation.
Hasina claims the ICT is not impartial and that the verdict was engineered by her political opponents.
She expresses gratitude toward India for providing refuge and hopes for the restoration of democracy in Bangladesh.
Hasina maintains that the relationship between India and Bangladesh can withstand the current political situation.
