Waqf Boards Address UMEED Portal Challenges
The Maharashtra State Waqf Tribunal has given the Maharashtra State Board of Waqf an extra six months to upload details of Waqf properties onto the UMEED portal.
The original deadline was December 5, but the Board faced technical problems.
The Board has already uploaded details of 50,000 out of 75,000 Waqf properties.
The Tribunal wants the portal to be fully fixed within 10 days and to work without any issues.
They also said no one should be punished for not uploading the details during this time.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Waqf Board is working to speed up the approval process for Waqf institutions on the UMEED portal.
They are forming district-wise teams and reopening the help desk to assist with registrations.
The goal is to ensure transparency and proper management of Waqf properties in both states.
The Maharashtra State Waqf Tribunal granted a 6-month extension for uploading Waqf property data on the UMEED portal due to technical issues.
Out of 75,000 Waqf properties, only 50,000 have been uploaded so far in Maharashtra.
The Tribunal ordered the portal to be fully functional within 10 days and to operate 24/7 without glitches.
The Tribunal restrained authorities from taking adverse action against mutawallis during this period.
The Telangana Waqf Board is expediting the approval process and forming district-wise teams to assist with registrations on the UMEED portal.
