Surat Court Rejects Bail in Junior Doctor’s Ragging Case

Surat Court Rejects Bail in Junior Doctor’s Ragging Case

A medical student in Surat died, allegedly by suicide, on August 9.

The case is connected to claims that he faced mental and physical harassment.

Police or prosecutors have linked a second-year postgraduate student to the case.

That student asked the court for anticipatory bail.

Anticipatory bail can protect someone from being arrested while a case is investigated.

The Surat court rejected that request.

The court also heard another student’s bail request.

A decision on the second request is expected in two or three days.
