India Places Global Crises and Reform at UNGA Center

World leaders are meeting in New York for a major United Nations discussion.

They are talking while wars, humanitarian emergencies and economic problems affect many countries.

The meeting’s theme is about rebuilding trust and making the United Nations work better for everyone.

India plans to focus on changing global institutions so developing countries have a stronger voice.

India will also warn about terrorism and extremist groups operating in Afghanistan.

United Nations officials said more than 20 terrorist groups are present there.

India wants peacekeeping missions to receive enough resources and wants countries that provide peacekeepers to help design their missions.

Other discussions will cover climate change, pandemics, development, sea-level rise, nuclear weapons and economic security.
