World's Largest Shivling Arrives in Bihar
A very big and heavy Shivling, which is a religious symbol, has arrived in Gopalganj, Bihar.
It is so heavy that the bridge it needs to cross to reach its final destination is not strong enough.
Officials are checking the bridge to see if it can hold the weight.
They are also looking for other ways to move the Shivling safely.
The Shivling was made in Tamil Nadu and has traveled a long way to get to Bihar.
It is going to be placed in a temple in Motihari.
Many people came to see and pray to the Shivling as it passed through.
The temple where it will be placed is very big and will have many towers and smaller temples inside.
The world's largest Shivling, weighing 210 tonnes and standing 33 feet tall, has reached Gopalganj, Bihar.
The Shivling is being transported on a specially designed 96-wheeled truck and has traveled 2,500 kilometres from Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.
The bridge over the Gandak River is not strong enough to support the Shivling's weight, prompting inspections by BRPNNL and NHAI.
Bihar Minister Ashok Choudhary and Sayan Kunal of the BSRTC offered prayers before the Shivling, which drew large crowds of devotees.
The Shivling is scheduled to reach the Virat Ramayan Temple in Motihari between January 10 and 12, with formal installation on January 17.
