Pensioners Seek OPS, Higher Benefits During 8th Pay Commission Consultations

Pensioners Seek OPS, Higher Benefits During 8th Pay Commission Consultations

The 8th Pay Commission is asking groups what government employees and pensioners need.

Pensioner organisations met the Commission in Chennai.

The meetings took place on September 7 and 8.

The pensioners shared concerns about their retirement money.

They also asked about family pensions and allowances.

Some pensioners want the Old Pension Scheme, called OPS, to return.

They said stronger financial support would help retired employees and their families.

The Commission is considering the concerns raised during these consultations.
