Jana Nayagan, the final film of actor Vijay before he entered politics, was released on July 23 after facing delays due to certification issues.

The film had a strong opening but saw a slight drop in collections on its third day.

Despite this, it has earned ₹217.48 crore worldwide in just four days, with the Tamil version contributing the most.

The film's budget is estimated to be between ₹300-500 crore, and it is on track to cross the ₹200-crore milestone soon.

The film features a former police officer who fights against structural corruption and authoritarian power, and includes themes of women's empowerment and child safety.
