FIFA Annuls Three Malaysian Matches for Ineligible Players
FIFA, the organization that oversees international soccer, has decided to cancel the results of three matches played by the Malaysian team.
This is because some players were not allowed to play due to problems with their paperwork.
Originally, Malaysia had a tie and two wins, but now those results are being changed to losses.
FIFA also fined the Malaysian soccer association and suspended some players.
The Malaysian association is upset and plans to fight this decision in court.
This is all part of a bigger problem where some players had fake documents to play in important matches.
FIFA annulled the results of three Malaysian matches against Cape Verde, Singapore, and Palestine due to ineligible players.
The original results were a 1-1 draw with Cape Verde, a 2-1 win over Singapore, and a 1-0 win over Palestine.
The new results are 3-0 losses for Malaysia in all three matches.
FIFA fined the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) an additional 10,000 Swiss francs.
FAM plans to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
