Andhra Pradesh to Press Three Demands at KRMB Meeting

Andhra Pradesh to Press Three Demands at KRMB Meeting

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana share water from rivers and reservoirs.

Andhra Pradesh plans to raise three issues at a meeting on October 1.

It wants the Krishna River Management Board office moved from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh.

It prefers Amaravati as the new location.

Andhra Pradesh also wants available water in two reservoirs shared in a 66:34 ratio.

This request is mainly meant to support drinking water needs until May next year.

The State also wants the board to operate 15 shared parts of major water projects.

Telangana challenged the government’s order about transferring those parts, and the matter is still before the Supreme Court.
