India, Bangladesh Seek Deeper Parliamentary and People-to-People Ties
India and Bangladesh want their parliaments to work more closely together.
India’s High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi met Bangladesh’s Speaker and Deputy Speaker in Dhaka.
They discussed visits by lawmakers and cooperation between parliamentary committees.
They also talked about creating friendship groups between the two parliaments.
Another idea was to digitise old parliamentary records.
Trivedi said better cooperation between lawmakers could help people in both countries connect.
He also said the neighbours should understand each other’s challenges and focus on the future.

Trivedi said legislative engagement could strengthen people-to-people ties between the two neighbouring democracies.
